Maharashtra has endured a troublesome tournament so far as five out of their seven scheduled games have been washed out. However, they have done themselves no favors as they ended up defeated in both the games that were completed either. Himachal Pradesh, on the other hand, have fared fairly well, with three victories in the same number of matches and are hence conveniently placed in the upper half of the points table. They have lost merely once, and the rest three games were abandoned due to the recurrently gruesome climatic conditions.
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20
Maharashtra vs Himachal Pradesh
Reliance Stadium, Vadodara
October 13th, 2019
9:00 AM IST
As of now, clear weather with the temperature ranging in the mid-20s and with absolutely no chances of rain is expected during the course of the game.
The track is quite fresh, as none of the scheduled games in this venue has been completed so far. One can expect a good batting deck if the conditions remain the same as perceived to be.
Predicted Playing XI:
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rahul Tripathi along with Ankit Bawne would have to provide a solid start to Maharashtra’s innings. Bawne and Gaikwad have been regulars in the India ‘A’ circuit in recent times. Kedar Jadhav, Nikhil Naik and Azim Kazi are others whose performances could turn out to be of a high impact eventually.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi, Ankit Bawne, Kedar Jadhav, Nikhil Naik, Naushad Shaikh, Samad Fallah, Azim Kazi, Shamshuzama Kazi, Satyajeet Bachhav, Mukesh Choudhary
Prashant Chopra and Ankush Bains are the most prominent names in Himachal Pradesh’s batting order and hence accordingly, they would have to bear the major responsibilities along with the all-rounders like Rishi Dhawan and Pankaj Jaiswal in the lower-middle order.
Priyanshu Khaduri, Prashant Chopra, Ankush Bains (C & WK), Ankit Kalsi, Nikhil Gangta, Amit Kumar, Rishi Dhawan, Ayush Jamwal, Pankaj Jaiswal, Mayank Dagar, Kanwar Abhinay Singh
Kedar Jadhav is performing both the captaincy and wicket-keeping duties for his state side, batting at number four as well which means that he would have an ample number of deliveries to face and create an impact on the game. He scored a run-a-ball 33 in their previous encounter that included four boundaries and would thereby be a good option to be included in the lineup. Mayank Dagar is another interesting prospect who should be drafted in the XI. The left-arm spinner bagged four dismissals in eight overs and thereby conceding merely 19 runs in total. This happened in HP’s previous match against Haryana and hence he looks to be in a good run of form to be included in the fantasy team. Prashant Chopra and Rishi Dhawan are the couple of other players who deserve a look-in, especially the latter considering his prowess over both primary aspects of the game in the domestic circuit.
1: Kedar Jadhav
2: Prashant Chopra
3: Rishi Dhawan
