Virat Kohli

WATCH: Vintage Virat Kohli smashes Shaheen for 84m six over long-on

There was little to cheer for India in the first few minutes of the high-profile clash against Pakistan on Saturday, with Shaheen Shah Afridi creating a mayhem with his twin blow at the top. With the openers dismissed for a duck and three, the pressure was on India to try and swing things around, especially with Shaheen granted a third over upfront.

When Shaheen came into the attack again for his third over, Kohli was a picture of focus and concentration. The Indian skipper played through his searing pace to take 2, dot, dot, dot off the first four balls as Shaheen continued his dominance.

Perhaps realising India had to transfer the pressur eback onto the left-arm quick, Kohli was prepared well outside his leg stump as Shaheen steamed in another time. he rolled back the years with a perfectly timed loft over long-on for six to rubbish notions about his poor form and listless run acorss formats.

Social media couldn’t stop raving about the spectacular way in which Kohli transferred the pressure back onto Pakistan with his team down and out after the two early wickets.
