Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli took an indirect dig at Punjab Kings (PBKS) and their remark made over Twitter against him and his team during the Indian leg of IPL 2021.

As RCB drowned PBKS and kicked them out of the playoffs race on Sunday (October 3) with a handsome victory in Sharjah, Kohli was seen taking a jibe at the opposition and their cheeky social media admin.

In a clip that did rounds over Twitter hours after RCB defeated PBKS, Kohli said “bahut shaanti hai aj (it’s very peaceful today)”, which was a funny response to a tweet made from PBKS’ official handle after their team’s win over RCB near the end of the Indian leg.

Virat Kohli had a go at PBKS social media admin after RCB took a sweet revenge.

Virat Kohli gives befitting response to PBKS’ social media admin

The tweet made by PBKS on May 1 saw them take a dig at Virat Kohli and the rest of the RCB players.

The tweet contained the image of Kohli and his men wearing a sombre look on their faces after tasting defeat against PBKS by a hefty margin of 34 runs in Ahmedabad on April 30.

The image was captioned, “yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai (there is so much silence here)”.

This tweet was in existence until Sunday where the moment RCB routed PBKS by six runs and ended their hopes of a top 4 finish, passionate fans of Kohli and his team went after the opposition social media admin for his attempt at sledging their side.

RCB and their fans made the PBKS admin eat those words from April and the tweet was deleted from the franchise’s twitter handle immediately.

This is why Virat Kohli’s sarcastic comment “bahut shanti hai aaj” was hilarious as he responded to PBKS’ jibe in his own style after the fortunes were reversed from Ahmedabad to Sharjah.

With their victory, RCB also secured their playoffs berth for the second successive season. They’ve now won 8 of their 12 matches and have a chance of finishing within the top 2 if they win their last two league games with a good NRR. Kohli’s team next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (October 6).
