WATCH: Virat Kohli gestures at SA openers from dressing room at innings break; Rahul Dravid looks on

Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has not been a part of the XI for the ongoing second Test against South Africa in Johannesburg due to a back spasm, but he has barely been out of the limelight. On Day 2, he was seen speaking to the Proteas players in their dugout and was seen wandering around the boundary, speaking to Indian bowlers regularly.

He is a lively cricketer who cannot be kept away from the game, and once again, he was in action on Day 3. After India got bowled out in the second innings, when the hosts’ openers were running back towards the dressing room, Virat Kohli was spotted gesturing cheekily to them to hurry up.

The commentators who spotted it couldn’t help themselves but laugh. That is what Kohli brings to the table during a game. With the match running very close, Indian side would’ve loved to have the Virat Kohli intensity on the field, but with the 33-year-old not present in the slip cordon, there was a palpable absence in the Indian energy.

Here’s Virat Kohli with this hilarious gesture

South Africa seem to be on the front foot at the end of Day 3, with the visiting side struggling to pick wickets in their defense of the 240-run target. After Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara added a sensational 100-run partnership earlier in the day, a batting collapse in the team saw the side struggle to get an aspired total. But a great cameo from Shardul Thakur and a composed 42 from Hanuma Vihari got them to 266 runs.

Chasing 240 runs, Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram provided them a feisty start, with the latter scoring runs at a quick pace. They were scoring at over 4.5 until the 10th over, but Thakur provided a breakthrough to dismiss Markram in what was sensational over from the all-rounder. Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Keegan Petersen, which saw them finish at 118/2 in 40 overs. They need another 122 runs to win the game.
