WATCH: Virat Kohli does rock-the-baby celebration looking at Vamika

Former Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has been jostling for form of late as he hasn’t been at his very best. Although he has racked up quite a few half-centuries, a century has continued to elude him. It’s been more than two years since the now 33-year-old notched his last ton against Mominul Haque’s Bangladesh in the Day-Night Test at the iconic Eden Gardens.

He is currently taking part in the three-match ODI series against South Africa where he has scored 116 runs at an average of 38.67. After scoring 51 in the opening game at the Boland Park in Paarl, Kohli fetched a duck in the second game at the same venue. But he finished his campaign in the Rainbow Nation with a sparkling fifty at the Newlands in Cape Town.

The veteran scored 65 runs off 84 balls with the help of five fours before getting out to Keshav Maharaj. Kohli was also involved in an important 98-run stand for the second wicket with Shikhar Dhawan, who also chipped in with a 73-ball 61. During this while, Kohli celebrated in a unique manner after getting to his half-century off 63 balls.

After he reached the milestone, he brought out the rock-the-baby celebration while looking at his daughter Vamika, who was present at the stands in Cape Town. Anushka Sharma, Kohli’s wife, was over the moon after seeing her hubby scoring runs.

Kohli’s knock in the final ODI was a crucial one as it came after India lost the early wicket of KL Rahul, who got out to Lungi Ngidi. When Kohli perished, the Men in Blue still needed 132 runs from 18.2 overs.

Earlier, South Africa put up a competitive score of 287 on the board after Quinton de Kock’s masterful 124-run knock, laced with 12 fours and two sixes. Rassie van der Dussen also chipped in with a handy 59-ball 52.
