Nathan Coulter-Nile did not just remain a spectator in one of the most exhilarating contests in IPL this season, he did his bit quite decently to ensure Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians emerged victorious on the final day. Although he was taken for a few runs on the day, he picked up two good wickets in his final spell and finished with figures of 2/40 in 4 overs.

In his final over, he did a fantastic job to dismiss Wriddhiman Saha, one that raised plenty of eyebrows. Saha smashed Coulter-Nile straight towards the bowler but the Australian plunged out a hand. The fast-moving ball hit him just under his wrists and popped upwards, allowing the bowler to complete the second attempt easily.

Wriddhiman Saha, who came out to bat at number 9 for the side, struggled to get going and was eventually dismissed off the first delivery he actually connected. Coulter-Nile was left in pain and had struggled a bit to complete his over post that, but the joy of picking up wicket must’ve kept him going.

Here’s a look at that wonderful catch from Nathan Coulter-Nile

In their final game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, they scored 236 runs with the bat, which is their highest-ever total in their history, and defended the total without a lot of struggle. Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to sneak in a little tension when they were getting runs aplenty in the middle overs, but wickets kept tumbling and Mumbai Indians always were in control of the required rate.

However, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav’s onslaught with the bat remained the most important talking point. Ishan Kishan started his innings with a six, and continued batting aggressively as they needed a massive target to keep themselves alive. He finished with a 32-ball 84, whilst Suryakumar Yadav provided a stellar finish with a 40-ball 82, as Mumbai a massive total on board.

Sunrisers could only manage 193 runs, with Manish Pandey scoring a half-century for the side. They lost the game by 42 runs, and finished at the bottom of the table for the first time in their history.
