WATCH: ‘Captain Cool’ MS Dhoni caught cursing after dismissal?

MS Dhoni making headlines isn’t new anymore with the veteran Chennai Super Kings skipper stating at the start of play last night against Punjab Kings that we might see him in yellow next year.

“Well you can see me in yellow, but whether I’ll be playing for CSK there are a lot of uncertainties around it,” Dhoni left a shock bomb there at the toss, before explaining why him playing for CSK next year as well is not certain.

“We don’t know the retention policy. We don’t know how many foreigners, Indian players we can retain, the money cap that every player will be cutting from the kitty. So there are a lot of uncertainties.”

Dhoni said unless the exact details of the retention ahead of next year’s mega auction are made official, “you (as a team) can’t really decide that (individuals to retain). So we will wait for it to happen and hopefully, it will be good for everyone.”

In the match, the CSK skipper was cleaned up by Ravi Bishnoi’s googly, taking his career average against the delivery to a shocking 7.60!

But the major discussion among fans after Dhoni’s dismissal was around captain composed supposedly losing his cool and pulling out a ‘Ben Stokes’ (you know what it stands for surely!) after being dismissed. The curse word apparently escaped Dhoni’s lips after he was cleaned up. A fan made a slow motion video of Dhoni turning around after his dismissal with others joining in to lip sync what Dhoni was muttering to himself.

CSK lose three on the trot

Chennai Super Kings have now lost three matches on the trot after batting first in the UAE leg of IPL 2021 as they head into the playoffs. A concerned Stephen Fleming, head coach of CSK, said: “Yes, you have to be concerned when you lose three games in a row. Batting first, when it comes to setting a total, it has been a little bit tricky going around the venues to try and find the target score. Not just for us but for most teams. So there is a challenge to try and find a bit of tempo when you are batting first and get a competitive score on the board. We have struggled to do that.”
