The European Cricket Network (ECN) has become famous for its back to back T10 leagues all around Europe. Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Malta, Hungary, Romania, Sweden and multiple other nations have already seen these T10 leagues blossom and there is quite a bit of tough competition as well.
Quite a few of these cricketers who take part in these European Cricket Series (ECS) T10 leagues have even gone on to represent their respective nations in T20 internationals. There has been decent amount of talent on display. In fact, despite 2021 seeing only seven months so far, the European Cricket Network has already hosted 1000+ games across different leagues and cities in Europe.
At the moment, FanCode ECS Sweden, Stockholm 2021 is going on. And one of the left-arm pacers evoked some memories of the 1992 edition of Wasim Akram’s banana swing. Aman Zahid Khan of Alby Zalmi CF hasn’t bowled a lot in this tournament but he has been impressive in the limited chances he’s had the ball.
The 36-year-old left-arm seamer has shown he can get the ball to move around a bit and he got one to swing back in prodigiously which had some shades of Wasim Akram of 1992. In one of the games, Aman Zahid who is playing for the Alby Zalmi CF got one ball to swing back in from almost outside the pitch and just inside the wide marker’s tramline outside the right-hander’s off-stump. The batsman who was shaping up to play the ball through the off-side decided to let the ball go assuming it might be called a wide. However, the ball ended up well inside the wide marker.
The video of the ball was upload by European Cricket’s official Twitter handle (@EuropeanCricket).
Here is the video from ECS:
