WATCH: Fielder collides with teammate, but completes spectacular catch in ECL match

Chamal Sadun took a spectacular catch during the final of the ECL 2022 Group E final between Punjab Lions Nicosia and Pak I Care Badalona. After opting to bat first, the Badalona scored 93 for the loss of nine wickets in their 10 overs. Gurpartap Singh drew first blood after getting rid of opening batter Muhammad Babar.

In the very next over, Sushil Kumar picked up the wicket of Babar’s opening partner Sikandar Ali. Kumar bowled a good length delivery and Ali tried to clear the boundary on the leg side. He found enough elevation, but couldn’t find enough distance. As a result, the ball went a long way up into the sky. Sadun had his eyes on the ball throughout.

Another fielder, in the meantime, came running in to take the catch. In the end, both fielders collided, but Sadun managed to hold on to the ball. To everyone’s relief, both fielders managed to evade serious injuries. Ali went after scoring six runs off seven balls with the help of one four.

Kumar had an excellent day in the office after he finished with figures of 2-0-7-2. Apart from Ali, he also got rid of Abid Mahmood, who managed to score two runs. As far as the game was concerned, the Badalona won by 14 runs (D/L Method). Rain interrupted play and the Nicosia was set a revised target of 33 to chase down in three overs.

But the Nicosia managed to score only 18 runs and lost five wickets in their three overs. None of their batters got into double digits. Taranjit Singh and Tejwinder Singh bagged golden ducks as well. Babar failed to deliver with the bat, but did his job with the ball. He conceded five runs in the only over he bowled and picked up three wickets.

He accounted for the wickets of Taranjit, Tejwinder and opposition skipper Gurpartap. Sheroz Ahmed got the other wicket of Qasim Anwar. The other wicket of Scott Austin came through a run out.
