Indian pacer Shikha Pandey bowled a magic delivery to get past Australia’s Alyssa Healy in the second T20I of the ongoing three-match series on Saturday (October 9) in Queensland.

Pandey got Healy out with an absolute peach of a delivery that jagged back sharply into the right-hander. The exhilarating dismissal was on show on the second ball of the very first over of Australia’s run-chase where India got of to a thrilling start thanks to one of their premier quicks.

Shikha Pandey bowled the ball of the series as she got Healy out bowled from a delivery that came in from wide outside the off-stump to eventually dismantle her middle and leg stump. The barely believable nature of the ball proved too good for even an experienced player like Healy.

Shikha Pandey got Alyssa Healy out with a peach of a delivery.

Was it a seam-up ball or an off-cutter from Shikha Pandey?

No, it was a proper seam-up delivery that jagged back in viciously. It was initially felt that the ball may have been delivered like an off-cutter that gripped and turned into the batter.

However, close-in replays confirmed that it was indeed a seam-up ball that landed well outside the line of the off-stump but changed its direction drastically to finish at the middle & leg.

Having hit a four to start her innings off Pandey’s earlier delivery, Healy wouldn’t have anticipated such a response from the right-arm pacer. But the batter was made to do a long walk back to the pavillion when Pandey bowled a dream ball and she missed it completely.

With only 118/9 on the board, Pandey’s delivery to get Healy out was just the kind of lift-me-up that the Indian team needed at the beginning of the second half. Pandey’s exciting wicket-ball triggered great celebrations within the visiting camp and gave them some belief.
