The Indian players were heard giving an abusive send off to South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma after he was run out while trying to sneak in a quick single during the final ODI of the three-match series in Cape Town.

South Africa got off to difficult start to the match as they lost the wicket of Janneman Malan early in the innings. After Malan’s dismissal in the third over, the onus was on Quinton de Kock and Bavuma to steady the South African ship but they were dealt with another big blow when KL Rahul ran Bavuma out in the seventh over of the innings.

It was the third ball of the seventh over when Bavuma tried to take a quick single after tapping Deepak Chahar’s delivery to the covers. But KL Rahul was quick to gather the ball and hit the bullsye,  thus catching Bavuma short of the crease.

The decision was referred to the third umpire and when it became evident from thw replay that Bavuma was run out, he got an abusive send off from the Indian players.

After Bavuma’s dismissal, Rassie van der Dussen and de Kock led the charge for the Proteas. De Kock played a magnificent knock of 124 while Rassie van der Dussen scored vital 52 runs as well. South Africa were ultimately bowled out for 287. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets to his name. Deepak Chahar and Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with a couple of wickets as well.
