Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi were seen asking the small crowd present at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to raise their voices and join them in the fight against Australia on Day 1 of the third Test.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) posted a clip of the same on Twitter, with both Rizwan and Shaheen seen raising their hands and requesting the crowd to make some noise as they strived to put the visiting Australians under pressure.

Mohammad Rizwan was the one who started it, before Shaheen joined him. The keeper-pacer duo urged the spectators to add to the game’s energy with some loud noise and help Pakistan get under the skins of the opposition.

The incident came to light not too long after Shaheen gave Pakistan an ideal start to the opening day of the series deciding Test in Lahore. The left-arm pacer dismissed opening batter David Warner and No.3 Marnus Labuschagne in a space of three deliveries and reduced Australia to 8 for 2 inside the first three overs.

Soon, sensing the momentum is with Pakistan, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan decided to bring the home crowd factor into play and asked them to grow their voices louder as Shaheen ran in for his next over.

Rizwan and Shaheen took a cue from neighbouring stalwart Virat Kohli’s style of bringing the Indian crowds into play during home Tests. On multiple occasions, Kohli has been seen trying to cheer up the crowd and urging them to raise their noises with India on the look out for a breakthrough.

A forever-involved wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan offered a sheepish smile as he tried Kohli’s approach with the crowd for the first time in Lahore.

Earlier he took a clean grab off the edge of in-form Labuschagne when the batter attempted an incorrect drive against Shaheen and was sent back without a run on the board.

In the previous Test played in Karachi, Rizwan produced an exceptional unbeaten hundred in the fourth innings to help Pakistan salvage a draw and keep the series alive with a 0-0 scoreline.
