With two wins in as many matches, the Indian colts are off to a great start at the U19 World Cup. The squad consists of many talented players who have performed in both matches so far, and one of them is Maharashtra’s Rajvardhan Hangargekar.

The 19-year-old has already impressed everyone with his ability to bowl hard lengths at around 140 Kph. He has the muscular built of a fast bowler too, which makes him an exciting prospect for Indian cricket as well. But Hangargekar showed his batting ability as well on Wednesday as he smashed the Ireland bowlers to all parts of the ground.

Hangargekar was promoted to bat at No. 5, with as many as six of the regular players testing positive for COVID-19 ahead of the match. He walked in to bat in the 46th over of the Indian innings and smashed an unbeaten 39 off just 17 deliveries, including three consecutive sixes off Muzamil Sherzad in the last over of the innings.

India posted a huge total of 307/5 as a result of Hangargekar’s carnage in the late overs. He delivered another impressive bowling performance after that as he claimed the wicket of Jack Dickson with the new ball, and went on to register impressive bowling figures of 7-2-17-1. India bowled out Ireland for 133 runs, thus winning the match by a huge margin of 174 runs.
