Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan showcased his dancing skills after taking a wicket in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), as he tried to mimic a famous move of south Indian superstar Allu Arjun from his popular movie ‘Pushpa’.

Shakib did so during a BPL encounter on Tuesday (January 25), playing against Comilla Victorians for Fortune Barishal. The Barishal captain ran up to bowl to Victorians batter Faf du Plessis and got him out caught at mid-off.

Du Plessis, aiming for a big stroke, ended up miscueing the ball straight to the fielder placed deep into the third-yard cycle. The dismissal then paved way for Shakib Al Hasan to display his movie love, as he showed the fans his own version of the dance step that has become extremely famous.

The moment the catch was taken, Shakib Al Hasan turned towards the striker’s end and unleashed his move, with his right-hand placed to the side of his face. Just like Arjun did in the movie ‘Pushpa’ and its famous song titled “Shrivalli”.

Shakib has entered the BPL 2022 rejuvenated, having taken a break during the Test series in New Zealand in January where Bangladesh famously clinched a win in Mount Maunganui – their first on Kiwi shores.

Hailed as Bangladesh’s greatest-ever cricketer, the premier allrounder is leading Barishal in the competition. In the game against the Victorians in Dhaka, he picked one more wicket and returned with impressive four-over figures of 2/25.

In the early days of the BPL 2022, the experienced left-arm spinner has taken 4 wickets from his 3 outings with an eye-catching economy rate of just 4.72.
