Sunil Narine’s stocks as a batter may have fallen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the last two seasons but the aggressive left-hander remains a big-hit in the lower-tier leagues.

Narine was in excellent form in the recent final of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in Dhaka, where he smashed a critical 57 off 23 balls to push Comilla Victorians to the title win over Fortune Barishal.

The 33-year-old hit 5 fours and 5 sixes at the top of the order for Victorians, before backing his batting exploits with an outstanding spell of 2 for 16 in the run-chase.

Now, Sunil Narine seems to have carried his great form into the Trinidad T10 League where he was seen at his very best with the bat for Soca Kings on Monday (February 28) against the Cocrico Cavaliers.

Sunil Narine smashes Cavaliers to all parts in Trinidad T10 League

Sunil Narine found his best touch for Kings against the Cavaliers in the Trinidad T10 League.

Batting at the top, Narine went about his business in exhilarating fashion, playing an eye-catching knock of 68* off just 22 deliveries, including 3 fours and 8 sixes.

Narine’s innings helped Kings post a daunting total of 192/1 in their 10 overs worth of batting, before they defended that by a whopping 85 runs. Narine opted not to bowl in the second half but did enough with the bat to be Kings’ stand-out performer for the day.

This innings would bring a wry smile on the faces of Narine’s fans in India ahead of the IPL 2022. Retained by two-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Narine is an integral part of their plans with both bat and ball. At his best, Narine helps KKR balance their playing XIs perfectly alongside fellow West Indies allrounder Andre Russell.

Narine struggled with the bat in IPL 2021, making just 62 runs over 14 innings with a low-key strike-rate of 131.91. But he took 16 wickets at 22.56 per piece and an economy rate of 6.44 to push KKR to the tournament final where they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
