USA skipper pulls off outrageous run out as wicketkeeper
WATCH FROM USA v IRE: The USA-Ireland T20I series had a stunning start with USA recording its first ever T20I win against a full member team. The outstanding start to the series which saw USA take a 1-0 lead was followed by the second T20I where USA bowled Ireland out for 150.
An interesting incident from the 18th over of the Ireland innings caught the eye of fans on social media with USA’s Twitter handle sharing the clip.
Lorcan Tucker, on 70 at the time, was greeted with a yorker-length ball down the leg-side that he could just ward off with his legs. The ball went well wide off wicketkeeper Monank Patel, also USA’s skipper.
Monank dove to his left and pulled off an outstanding stop that few expected him to. But he wasn’t done just there. As Ireland looked to sneak in a leg bye with Barry McCarthy running to the danger end, Monank, still not standing, threw the ball from where he was at the stumps and hit the bull’s eye.
McCarthy was short of his crease by just a bit and USA were one step closer to bowling Ireland out.

Despite the stellar effort of the bowlers, the batting group failed to chase the target down and Ireland drew level with a hard-fought win.
