Australia and England will renew their longstanding rivalry with the Ashes 2021-22. The three lions are all set to embark on another difficult tour of Down Under, with a five-Test series starting Wednesday (December 8).

The first Test will be played the Gabba in Brisbane, followed by matches in Adelaide (D/N, December 16-20), Melbourne (Dec 26-30), Sydney (January 5-9). The fifth and final Test match, which was originally due to be played in Perth, will now take place at another, yet-to-be-confirmed venue from January 14.

For England, it’s an opportunity to make amends after two successive disappointing Ashes tours to Australia, having lost 5-0 and 4-0 in their previous trips dating 2013-14 and 2017-18 winters, respectively.

The Australia-England rivalry resumes with the Ashes 2021-22.

Australia will be looking to overcome their home series defeat against India last summer and continue their home dominance over the English side. Since the turn of the century, they’ve won 19 of their 25 Ashes Tests at home and lost only four, three of which came during the painful 3-1 series loss in 2010-11 summer.

This will also be the start of a new era in Australian cricket, as spearhead Pat Cummins begins his exciting Test captaincy tenure following his recent appointment at the helm after Tim Paine quit his post and went on an indefinite break from the game.
