West Indies are all set to host South Africa in a bilateral series for the first time since 2010 – here’s more information on where to watch WI vs SA live streaming and other TV details.

Proteas last visited the Caribbean shores back in 2010. A decade later, this tour consists of two Test matches and five T20Is.

The Tests, rescheduled from last year after indefinite suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are part of both teams’ last series in the first cycle of the World Test Championship (WTC).

Both West Indies and South Africa couldn’t make the final of the nine-team league tournament after finishing sixth and seventh, respectively, in the points table until March this year.

The Calypso Kings have lost six of their nine matches, including three wins and a couple of draws, while Proteas have clinched three and failed in eight of their eleven matches in the league. Since they’re already out of the race to make the final, both teams have an opportunity through the series to fine-tune their Test game ahead of the next cycle of WTC.

West Indies

Kraigg Brathwaite is West Indies’ new permanent Test captain.

The five-match T20I series, on the other, is part of the build-up towards the T20 World Cup later in the year, which West Indies will enter as the defending champions and South Africa with hopes to lift the title for the first time.

Proteas have already announced their Test and T20I squads for the Caribbean sojourn, with Dean Elgar leading the team in the longer version and Temba Bavuma captaining the side in the shortest form of the game.

West Indies, led by Kraigg Brathwaite in Tests and Kieron Pollard in the white-ball arena, have only named a provisional squad for Tests and T20Is, which is expected to be trimmed down ahead of the series.
