Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known not just for his cool and composed demeanor, but also his accuracy in identifying little moments in the game that most fail to. This is where his decision-making is quite sensational and more often than not, he gets his DRS calls spot on. But in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, right after the final ball of the innings, MS Dhoni did something cheeky.

Deepak Chahar bowled the final over of the innings and off the last ball, he bowled it full and straight to Rashid Khan. Rashid could just about get his bat down on time, and an outside edge allowed him to go for a single. However, Deepak Chahar felt that the ball was potentially hitting the pad and asked Dhoni if it was worth taking a review for it.

Dhoni, while smiling at his bowler, went for the review as he had nothing to lose. Third umpire Michael Gough noticed that it was far away from the pad and did not take more than 30 seconds to ask the on-field umpires to stay with his decision. MS Dhoni was seen having a giggle about it as the match officials had a little more work to do before heading back for some break.

A busy day behind the wickets for MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni had a busy outing for the side, as he collected three catches after asking Sunrisers Hyderabad to bat first upon winning the toss. He picked up a fine catch moving towards his right to dismiss Jason Roy off Josh Hazlewood’s bowling. His bowlers kept things neat and tidy to not let the Sunrisers take any control in the game and they remained in the driver’s seat.

He later chipped in with two more impressive catches to dismiss Wriddhiman Saha and Priyam Garg. Garg was the first, who skied a pull shot and Dhoni covered some ground to get hold of it. Saha, an over later, played a tame shot and fell in Jadeja’s trap, as Dhoni called for the ball and collected a neat catch to dismiss the youngster Garg.
