Indian skipper Virat Kohli had one of his most animated afternoons on a cricket field on Day 5 of the Lord’s Test this Monday (August 16).

With tempers flying high post the heated exchanges between Jasprit Bumrah and close-in England fieldsmen earlier in the day, Kohli was emotionally charged up and had the cameras panned on him all the way.

The visiting captain and modern-day batting giant only got more excited and expressive as India reached near the cusp of a famous win. Kohli celebrated each of England’s wickets wholeheartedly and amusingly even tried to get under the skins of the next man arriving.

This was evident when No.11 James Anderson, Kohli’s longstanding rival, walked up the crease with a hopeless equation of his team requiring a further 151 at 120/9.

Virat Kohli was seen gesturing his pacers to go for a barrage of bouncers at the pacer.

While the lasting memory of the game will be how young quick Mohammed Siraj hit the top of Anderson’s off-stump to complete India’s win, it was Kohli who first urged the pacer to go around the wicket and try to get him out from that angle.

Siraj had his man off the very next delivery and the pacer ran across to uproot the stumps at the other end while a jubilant Virat Kohli and the rest of the Indian team tried to catch him.

Those were overwhelming images for Indian fans, ones that will stay with them forever.
