The moment Maroof reached her fifty in Tuesday’s (March 8) fixture in Mount Maunganui, she made a point to dedicate her knock to her daughter, who was there in the stands along with her relatives.

The wonderful gesture came to light during the 41st over of the Pakistan innings against the mighty Aussies.

Facing opposition legspinner Amanda Wellington, Bismah Maroof played out three dot balls at the start of the over but finally broke the pattern with a boundary that also pushed her past fifty.
